Burned out and overworked, corporate employee Gretchen Shanks takes a long overdue vacation to Tulum Mexico to escape. She’s hoping to escape her empty existence for a few weeks – hey, wouldn’t a romantic encounter be perfect?! But during a hookup (yes!) with her Mayan kayak guide, she realizes a lifelong pattern in the bedroom and resolves to employ her research superpowers to change her sex life. Gretchen’s travel involves more than the Yucatan peninsula; using her laptop and impressive spreadsheet skills, she goes from frustrated to an expert in sex parties, dominance and submission, sexological bodywork, tantra and more. Then one night in a BDSM dungeon, she meets a man who takes her to a place she’s never been. Ready for orgasms, desire, and female pleasure? Geek research powers activate!

Dolan is a recent college graduate and frustrated writer who is sure he’s straight. Broke and mired in a trifecta of misery - a career-ending Rugby injury, the daily unhappiness of his London PR job, and the endless taunts from a homophobic coworker – he’s in despair, convinced that there has to be more to life than this. When he stumbles upon a Time Out London magazine coupon for savings off the price of admission to a gay bathhouse, his thrifty nature leads him deep inside the infamous men’s sauna beneath Waterloo station - and the adventure changes him forever.

Die-hard Democrat Jessica Cohen meets a vienna sausage fingered, Russ Limbaugh-listening Republican on an OKCupid date, and while appalled at his politics, the chemistry in the bedroom is overwhelming. Their post-sex cuddling and conversation allows them to understand each other’s politics better, and she empathizes with his circumstances that led him to vote Red. But can the phrase ‘opposites attract’ extend all the way to the voting booth? And should you sleep with someone who is canceling out your vote?
